By using Up4It, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Up4It is intended for users aged 18 and over.

When you create an account and use Up4It, we collect the following information:
Account information — your name, email address, username and password
Profile information — your profile photo, bio and location (postcode)
Interests — the event categories and specific interests you select
Location data — your postcode and preferred event radius, used to show events near you
Event interactions — events you mark as interested, going or purchased
Recap photos — photos you upload after attending events
Messages — direct messages and group chats you send and receive within the app
Comments — comments you post on events
Usage data — how you interact with the app, including events you view and features you use
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Create and manage your account
Show you events matched to your interests and location
Connect you with friends and show you which friends are attending events
Enable messaging between users
Send you in-app notifications about friend activity, new events and ticket sales
Allow Event Posters to reach relevant audiences
Improve and develop the Up4It platform
Respond to your support requests
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
Other users — your username, profile photo, bio and event interactions (going, interested) are visible to other Up4It users as part of the social features of the app
Event Posters — when you mark interest in or purchase tickets to an event, the Event Poster may see aggregate attendance numbers
Service providers — we use the following third party services to operate the platform:
Supabase — database, authentication and file storage (supabase.com)
Resend — email notifications (resend.com)
Cloudflare — website hosting (cloudflare.com)
Formspree — waitlist form submissions (formspree.io)
Apple TestFlight — app distribution (apple.com)
Legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which uses industry-standard encryption and security practices. We implement Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access data they are authorised to see.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Correction — update or correct your personal information through the app's Edit Profile feature
Deletion — request that we delete your account and all associated personal data by emailing hello.up4it@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
Withdrawal of consent — you can delete your account at any time by contacting us
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
Up4It is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and associated data.
8. Third Party Links
Up4It may contain links to third party websites and ticketing platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Up4It after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Australian Privacy Act
Up4It operates in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you believe we have breached your privacy rights, you may contact us directly or lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
